City Council
The Council oversees all administrative functions of the city. The council is responsible for setting tax levies along with implementing a yearly budget, and implementing and upholding all ordinances and regulations for which the City must follow. The City of Mabel is governed by four council members and a mayor. Council members have 4 year terms and the mayor has a two year term. Every even year an election occurs for which the mayor is up for reelection and two council members are up for reelection.
The Mabel City Council meets on the second Wednesday of each month, 6:00 p.m., at the Mabel City Hall Meeting Room.

aDAM WILDER
MayorAdam Wilder was first elected council member in 2019, and then took over as mayor in September 2022 after Mayor Jim Westby passed away. He was then elected mayor for 2023-2024. Adam has lived in Mabel most of his life. He teaches Special Education at Mabel-Canton and is a JV football and Varsity Girls Basketball coach. He is also has been a member of the fire department since 2019.
Kirsten Wyffels
Council MemberCouncil Member Kirsten Wyffels was elected to the City Council in 2005. She is president of the Mabel Economic Development Authority. She works at the Winneshiek Medical Center-Mabel Clinic as a nurse practitioner with her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.

Cory Wilson
Council MemberCouncil Member Cory Wilson was elected to council in 2021 and has lived in Mabel since 2010. Cory has worked for Summit Fire Protection since 2006. He has been on the Fire Department since 2019 and is a member of the Mabel Ambulance.

VALERIE ARNOLD
Council MemberValerie was elected to the city council in 2023. She returned to Mabel in 2016 after being gone for 30 years. She is an eligibility worker for Fillmore County since 2016, a member of the Legion Auxiliary and Lions Club, and also one of the queen coordinators for the Steam Engine Days royalty.

Where is City Hall located?
The offices are located in the Community Center located at 201 South Main Street.

Do I need to license my pet?
Yes. Pet owners will need to license their pets annually at the 1st of each year, along with a copy of vaccinations. The cost is $10.00. Maximum of 2 pets per household.

Yes. Stop in City Hall to get your permit or download the application here and bring it in. The cost is $15 each. Send in the payment with your application or you can pay online here.
